why can't you guys just fix your software? Many users have this issue where the internal webserver stopped working, your fix is to use another companies software (IIS)! You expect us to recommend WebLog Expert to our companies where they will spend thousands on your software!?? Only to make us look bad??? FIX YOUR INTERNAL WEBSERVER and quit blaming end users.. I even tried IIS and I cant login, you guys just stopped responding to me.. How can I recommend purchase of this!?
So why include a built in web server if it doesn't work, and you don't even recommend using it? Its like me selling you a mini van because you have 4 kids, you need a car that can haul 4 kids. I tell you THIS MINI VAN CAN HOLD 4 KIDS. You get it home but it can only hold 3, You call me, and I recommend you call a third party cab company that can haul 4 kids. WHAT!? You bought the van assuming it would do what is advertised.
I almost bought multiple copies of enterprise assuming it had a built in webserver because we CAN NOT run IIS in our environment. I'm just suggesting you remove the built in webserver from your sell sheet if you are not willing to make it work in any environment like any other enterprise class software vendor. Even the little guys have worked with us to make sure their software does what was advertised, they also want to better their software. You havent touched your internal web server for years, If i had to guess the developer who did great work on it is no longer with you? Anyway, just a suggestion, take it or leave it..

Hi James. I'm sorry that you have problems with our software and surely we try our best to fix all issues with it. There are a lot of users that successfully use our software both with the internal web server and IIS.
However, it is important to note that in any case IIS will remain the preferable solution for hosting WebLog Expert reports. The WebLog Expert reporting uses .NET Framework written by Microsoft and the best server for hosting .NET sites (and WebLog Expert reports are simply a .NET site) is IIS.
We surely don't blame end users and we try to help them to manage all issues so they can use our software. We also tested our software with all modern versions of Windows and found no problems with it. The problem is that there may be a lot of different configurations in Windows and we cannot ensure that our software is compatible with all the available configurations. It seems that in this case the specific configuration (that includes both Windows settings and other software installed) prevents IIS to work with the the reporting site for some reason. We have suggested various solutions that helped some other our users that had similar problems, but for some reason it didn't help in this case.
Unfortunately in this case we have ran out of options. So the only solution we could suggest is to try the program on another system, as according to our tests WebLog Expert should work on all modern versions of Windows with default configurations correctly. You can set the program to read logs from a network share and access the reports from any computer, so it could solve the issue.

So it appears your webserver has an issue when trying to confirm the registration info. In a fresh install with a trial regcode entered your webserver installs itself as a service and runs. when that regcode is un-rechable/invalid for whatever reason and the service tries to start and it is configured to delete itself as a service. When the reg-code is then reachable again, it does not re-install as a service. Why your internal web server is even checking for a regcode is a mystery to me. I will do some further digging to see what can be done...
It seems that the issue is related to another problem you had with unrecognized user in IIS. In both case the web server could not access the program configuration files (either with user information or with licensing information). In most cases the problem can be solved by changing permissions for the "C:\ProgramData\WebLog Expert" folder and/or account used for the service or IIS site, but it could be also caused by security software used.

Regarding our built-in server. We want to give our users an option:
1. Use the built-in server that can be very easily set up and is enough for many users. However, the server almost has no options, e.g. it's not possible to serve reports via SSL using it. And it is less stable for serving heavy reports and/or with a lot of users.
2. Use IIS. It requires more time and effort to set, but it is more powerful, stable and has much more capabilities. We included detailed instructions on setting up IIS with the program reports, it is available in the program help.
In any case it's not possible to make a product that will work in all possible cases, each software has its limitations. It is one of the reason we provide fully functional 30-day trial version of our software so users can decide whether it suits their needs.

Can you PM me some kind of Registration Key that will allow me to run enterprise again.. We will attempt to fix your builtin web server.
Could you please send your licensed user name or license key to us at support@weblogexpert.com? We'll check if you can upgrade to a version of the program that supports using IIS to host the dynamic HTML reports.
