Where are the virtual domains coming from?

Under "Access Statistics/Virtual Domains", most virtual domains listed there are not what I created for our website. Most of them are subdomains, for example, "sample.mydomain.com", "autodiscover.mydomain.com" etc. These virtual domains do redirect to the default page of our site.

As these subdomains redirect visitors to the main domain, it seems that the redirect hits are logged and reported by the program so these subdomains are also reported by the program.

If you wish to get information on specific subdomain (e.g. requests and referrers), you can create an include "Virtual domain" filter in the profile properties to get information on this subdomain only.

If you have the Professional or Enterprise version, you can also create a separate table like "Referrers by Virtual Domain". You can create the table in Options > Report > Tables, you need to choose "Referring URL" as main data and "Virtual domain" as group data.
