What is the Mechanism to calculate the Page Views ?

Hi ,

just trying to find out what is the mechanism to calculate the page views Vs Spider hits ?

are you calculating page views based on any Content-Type like text/html or is there any pattern ?

The Spidered Pages report include informations on pages requested by spiders only, while the general Spider Hits number include requests for all files (pages, images, etc.) so this number may be higher.

I have just reviewed the spiders report.. i could see little mis match with the Number hits displayed in the Spiders is very different than the number of hits showing in Spidered Pages.

Does Spidered Pages report all the urls or just some of them ?

You can see this information in the Browsers > Spiders report.

In the report, i see that number of spider hits.. but is there a way i can see which spider sending how many hits .. ?

The program calculates page views as number of requests (hits) for page files from usual (non-spider visitors). The program detemines type of files (page, image, download file) using lists of file extensions specified in Options > Analysis > Files. Requests from spiders are determined by user agent string using a built-in list of spider user agents.
