Visitors => Referrers => external only

Hello,

I'm trying to filter internal referrers (from our site homepage etc..) keeping only external referrers (google.com, etc..) in the "Options" general menu, leaving the "Show internal visitor referrers... " unchecked.

But still, they show, at least the subdomains like search.our-website.org

Any idea?

Michael,

Thanks for the quick answer, then one thing we can do is massaging the raws logs data and tweak all these sub-domains to the main host. But yes it would be interesting to filter sub-domains out in future releases.

Only referrers from the domain specified in the profile properties as the site domain are considered to be internal referrers, referrers from subdomains are considered to be external ones and so are shown in the report.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to hide referrers from subdomains. Using filters will also affect other tables and charts, so it should be considered only if you have a special profile just for this table. It is also possible to create a custom table in the Professional and Enterprise edition and apply filters to this table only, but in this case you'll need to create a custom table just for this profile and disable it for other ones.
