Can I find out how many files have been downloaded from my site?

Is there a way I can determine the total number of files that have been downloaded from our site within a specific period of time. I know that there is a most downloaded files section of the report that shows hits and visitors, so I would like to use this to estimate the number of files downloaded.

How can I get this to show me all the files that have been downloaded (rather than just the top files)?

Is it erasonable to use visitors as the basis for determining this number and to combine the total number of visitors? (Assuming the file was downloaded once by the visitor).

Hello,
We cannot tell the exact number of successful downloads by 'Total/ subtotal' in the top downloaded files. Right?

What is the difference between "Total and SubTotal" ?
Unfortunately it’s not possible to accurately determine number of successful (full) downloads by analyzing usual log files.

Subtotal is the sum of the appropriate values (e.g. number of hits) for the files shown in the table, i.e. top downloaded files. Total is the sum for all files, even not shown in the table.

The program shows top 50 items per table by default but you can change this number (up to 10000) in the program options ("Report | Contents" category) or profile properties. Just select an appropriate item and click the "Properties" button.

Using number of visitors is the recommended way to estimate number of downloads (while number of hits shouldn't be used for this purpose because of download managers that can produce multiple hits for one full download).
