How is internet explorer version reported when user has the site in compatibility view list?
We see a lot of IE8 and IE7, can that actually be IE11 where users have set browser in compatibility mode and by that sends a User Agent String with e.g. MSIE 7.0.
Or is the tool smart enough to understand the actual version "buy magic" ?

Since version 7.6 the program shows real IE version even if it works in the compatibility mode. So if you use version 7.6 or newer and see a lot of requests from IE8 or IE7, it should be either real requests from IE7/8 or requests from other tools that spoof the useragent strings.
